DC Entertainment, who has been knocking it out of the park in terms of its animated films over the last few years, has released a debut trailer for their latest animated film, "Justice League: Throne of Atlantis," according to Comicbookmovie.com.
Based on the "Justice League/Aquaman" crossover written by Geoff Johns, "Throne of Atlantis" serves as an origin story for Aquaman, who was replaced by Shazam as a founding member of the League in "Justice League: War."
Orm, the prince of Atlantis, and then villainous Black Manta, join forces to convince Atlantis to attack the surface world. Atlanna, the Queen of Atlantis, and the Justice League must find Arthur Curry, Orm's lost half-brother, as he is the only hope of peace between the two warring civilizations.
The film features the voices of Matt Lanter (Aquaman), Sam Witwer (Orm/Ocean Master), Chris Gorham (The Flash), Jason O'Mara (Batman), Shemar Moore (Cyborg), Rosario Dawson (Wonder Woman), Jerry O'Connell (Superman), Nathan Fillion (Green Lantern) and Sean Astin (Shazam). The film is directed by "Son of Batman" and "Batman: Assault on Arkham" director, Ethan Spaulding.
"Justice League: Throne of Atlantis" will be released sometime in 2015. Check out the trailer itself below:
