Customers at Union Taco are getting a sweet deal, as the Philadelphia restaurant is offering its chorizo cheese fries for 20 cents during the regular football season whenever Eagles running back LeSean McCoy scores a touchdown.
The fries, which normally cost $2.50, come in the form of deep-fried hand-cut potatoes from Idaho, according to Philly.com. Union Taco covers them with house-made jalapeno queso with slices of chorizo.
The 20-cent deal will be available on Sunday until closing time, which is 9 p.m. on this day. The restaurant is making the offer available the entire day after the Eagles' game against the Carolina Panthers on Monday, Nov. 10th as well. Since the taquería is closed on Mondays, customers will also be able to get the cheaper fries on the Tuesday after the team's game against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday, Dec. 14th.
Union Taco decided to make the offer available after McCoy left a 20-cent tip for a lunch at a restaurant last month, which resulted in exchanges between the running back and the establishment in the media, The Express-Times reported.
McCoy has only scored one touchdown out of the four games he's had so far this season.
Football fans in Philadelphia looking for a chance to get fries for 20 cents can get it at Union Taco's restaurant, located on 712 W. Girard Ave. and 4229 Main St. in Manayunk, Philly.com reported.
Union Taco's Nick Farina said he came up with the offer to have fun, and that it creates "a win-win" situation.
