A very iconic scene was reportedly filmed in Dubrovnik, Croatia for the upcoming fifth season of "Game of Thrones." According to Spoilerguide, Lena Headey supposedly filmed scenes for her character's "walk of shame." Headey plays Cersei Lannister in the HBO series.
The photos were posted to a blog, with the following caption:
"Cersei was being escorted up the staircase (presumably to the Great Sept of Baelor, which will be added in later with CGI) by a Kingsguard (pretty sure it was Ser Meryn Trant) while wearing a black mourning gown," the blog wrote. "Some of the black Lannister banners were still up, and noble men and ladies lined either side of the stairs, silently watching her walk. At the base of the stairs, a line of City Watchmen and Lannister Guards held the peasants back."
However, it seems like the photographer wasn't able to get any pictures of Headey due to a tightly locked down set. You can check out all the photos here.
The walk of shame scenes occur in George R.R. Martin's fifth novel, "A Dance of Dragons," and is the first time Cersei must confess her sins. It was previously rumored that the penance walk wasn't going to be filmed because locals didn't want the scene, which requires nudity, to be filmed inside a church.
"We're told the local film commission will not give producers a permit to shoot the scene because they take their cue from the church - in this case the Church of St. Nicholas," TMZ reported at the time. "Sources [say] they can't cut the scene because it's crucial to the story line and it's an iconic moment from the book."
In the end, HBO showrunners were able to work something out, and instead, said they would move the scene from the church to the streets of Croatia.
"We're told the film commissioners changed their initial ruling upon realizing how much pleasantry 'Game of Thrones' doth bring the townspeople. It also brings in a lot of copper pennies," TMZ wrote.
