When midterm elections roll around, the most important issue for Americans is still going to be the economy.
The Associated Press teamed up with GfK to survey voters to see what political issues are going to weigh the most come election time.
The survey gathered data with Knowledge Panel, which is used by GfK to pool survey samples of America that will fairly represent the country. From the panel, the team surveyed 1,845 adults between Sept. 25-29.
Results indicated that nine in 10 people feel that the economy is the most important issue being discussed.
Americans appear to be focusing on the economy because they often feel that it impacts them directly.
"We need jobs," Christine Kamischke, 45, of Michigan, told AP. She and her husband are reportedly having difficulty raising their five children. She works at a large retail store, while her husband was recently laid off from a nearby Air Force base.
