‘Peter Pan’-Inspired Comedy Series Ordered By NBC

The "Peter Pan" lore could remain a permanent fixture on NBC if the network picks up a new comedy series loosely based on J.M. Barrie's characters Wendy and Peter.

The network gave a script commitment with penalty for the show entitled "Wendy and Peter," according to Entertainment Weekly. In addition the "Peter Pan" background, the show will also draw inspiration from writer and executive producer Marisa Coughlan.

The modern-day, workplace comedy will focus on Wendy and her search for love with a "real man." She instead finds herself falling for Peter, "a guy who's just not quite ready to grow up."

Will McCormack and Rashida Jones will executive produce "Wendy and Peter," which comes from Le Train Train production company and Warner Bros. Television.

NBC will premiere its "Peter Pan Live" musical starring Allison Williams and Christopher Walken on Dec. 4.
