Phone-Hacking Scandal: British Editor Admits To Illegally Obtaining Voicemails From Paul McCartney and Others

BBC News reported that Ian Edmondson, former editor of the now defunct News of the World, has been convicted of phone hacking. The former tabloid editor joins seven others who have been convicted from the same publication.

It had been previously reported that Edmondson illegally obtained voicemails, including those of Sir Paul McCartney.

BBC reported "Edmondson has admitted conspiring with colleagues and private detective Glenn Mulcaire to intercept private voicemails between October 3, 2000 and August 9, 2006."

BBC also stated that the court is aware that Edmondson gave Mulcaire the task of hacking "some 344 times".

The phone-hacking scandal also included celebrity victims Jude Law and Sienna Miller.
