Michael B. Jordan isn’t concerned about the haters against his casting as the Human Torch in the “Fantastic Four” reboot.
During an interview with the New York Daily News, Jordan admitted he “can’t make everybody happy” and refuses to think about the negativity he’s faced.
Jordan is excited to bring the new Human Torch to the big screen and knows he’s done the best he can with the character.
"I've known about this character and playing this role for almost two and a half years now," he said. "So when I get all these new questions about how I'm feeling about it, I'm like, 'You know, I'm feeling pretty good about it.'
"…It's something that we kind of willed to happen, which was really important to me and Josh (Trank),” Jordan said regarding his vision of the Human Torch.
“We're lucky we had a studio behind us that really supported our ambition and our want for change. Now we have something really epic."
Jordan also spoke to The Daily Beast about the casting backlash, claiming he’s accepted becoming the “underdog” in the “Fantastic Four” production.
"I embrace it," he told The Daily Beast. "Who doesn't love a feel-good story? The unlikely hero? There's something more satisfying about playing characters like that, or getting to a place people didn't expect you to be. But you're here now."
The “Fantastic Four” reboot, starring Kate Mara as the Invisible Woman, Miles Teller as Mr. Fantastic and Jamie Bell as The Thing, will be released to theaters on June 19, 2015.
