Blake Shelton – Entertainer Of The Year, Miranda Lambert- Female Vocalist Of The Year

Blake Shelton and wife Miranda Lambert bagged a handful of awards at the Country Music Association Awards. Shelton won his first award as the entertainer of the year.

Shelton and Lambert won three awards with Shelton winning male vocalist of the year for the third year in a row. Lambert was not left alone as she bagged female vocalist of the year award. The couples' touching ballad "Over You" was the song of the year.

The song of the year award had touched many hearts and also was a very special one to Shelton as the couple co-wrote this song about the loss of Shelton's late brother, Richie.

Shelton spoke to the crowd about the loss of brother in a car wreck when he was 14 years old. "Later in life, when I decided I wanted to be a country singer, my dad always told me, 'Son, you should write a song about your brother.' I lost my dad in January, and it's so amazing to me that tonight -- even after he's gone -- he's still right. I just needed the right person to write this song with and the right person to sing it," Shelton added.

Lambert, in acceptance of the song of the year award, expressed her joy and excitement. "I didn't say anything for song of the year because it was a huge, huge dream of mine to write the song of the year," she said. "And I never thought I'd get to, especially celebrate it with my husband," Lambert said.

Shelton also won the entertainer of the year award which came as a surprise to him. "Man! Entertainer of the year? What are you talking about?" he said. "I know I am not out there on the road as much. I don't know how this happened. I freaking love it though."

Shelton is also setting his expectations to become a member of "Grand Ole Opry." "I love country music more than anybody in this room," he said.
