‘The Walking Dead’ Comic Book Spoilers: There’s a Weird and Disgusting Explanation for the Talking Zombies

WARNING: Contains spoilers for The Walking Dead Issue 132, released Oct. 1

There's a lot going on in Robert Kirkman's The Walking Dead comic books. He just released Issue 132 which helped clear up some things, specifically talking zombies. In Issue 130, Marco came across a herd of walkers and thought he heard some whispering.

Many fans poked fun at the supposed whispering walkers while others thought Kirkman was adding a new type of zombie to the mix. Thankfully, the walkers are not smart enough to communicate with each other (that would be terrifying, right?) but there is a perfectly good - and twisted - explanation for the voices, Wetpaint reports.

In the issue, fans learn that walkers were not actually talking but there was living, breathing people disguised among them. How did they camouflage themselves among the herd, you ask? Well, it turns out that a group of survivors covered themselves in zombie skin to blend in with the undead. Beyond gross!

What happened to smearing blood on you or having a couple armless, mouthless "pets" like Michonne? As disgusting as the zombie-skin bodysuit sounds, it's (kinda) smart but also spells big trouble for Rick Grimes and his group.

According to Wetpaint, there are others disguised as zombies who can lead a herd anywhere they want. It's not likely that skin-wearing people will pop up on AMC's "The Walking Dead" because the show and the comics are at different points in their storylines.

The TV show is still very far behind the current issue of the comics. Issue 133 of The Walking Dead will be released Oct. 22.
