“X-Men: Days of Future Past” has released another featurette in honor of its upcoming release to DVD and Blue ray.
The latest clip shows of actress Fan Bingbing in her role as Blink. The vortex portal-creating mutant uses her gift to help the X-Men escape as Sentinels are continuously hunting them down throughout the film’s “present day” portion.
Check out the Blink featurette in the video below. “X-Men: Days of Future Past” will be released to stores on Oct. 14.
No word if Blink will be appearing in the third installment of the “First Class” franchise, but “X-Men: Apocalypse” writer Simon Kinberg is does have a vision for the film.
Kinberg explained to Collider the “Apocalypse” film will be an end of the “First Class” trilogy, leaving room for other franchises to spawn new storylines.
“I will say that [X-Men: Apocalypse] is definitely the close of a trilogy for those First Class characters, which isn’t to say we won’t see them in future movies, hopefully we will, but it’s a completion of an arc for them,” Kinbeg said.
“I think that the friendship between Erik and Charles, which has always been so integral to the franchise, is something we’re continuing to explore and hopefully deepen with Apocalypse. And the relationship between Beast and Mystique is a really interesting one that we didn’t have a lot of time to explore in Days of Future Past, so we’ll have an opportunity to do more of that in Apocalypse.”
Kinberg claimed the production is having fun with the 1980s storyline and is considering recasting younger versions of the fan favorites, such as Jean Grey and Cyclops.
However, fans will have to wait until May 18, 2016, to see what director Bryan Singer has in store for “X-Men: Apocalypse.”
