As dust is settling down on the #bendgate issue with iPhone 6 Plus, some of the owners of the new flagships are reporting that the devices are ripping out their hair.
Apple is getting a lot of negative press for its coveted iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, but the sales tell a different story. After the Cupertino tech giant addressed the wildly growing iPhone 6 Plus bendgate issue, it seems the tech giant has a new problem at hand. Several users of Apple's new iPhone 6 Plus are reporting that the handset is ripping out their hair when held against the ear for making calls.
Several users experienced their hair being pulled out while taking a call, according to a community post on 9to5Mac on Friday. In a detailed description of the problem, guest commenter Ayeai explained that the seam between the glass screen and the aluminum back of the iPhone is to be blamed. The issue prompted users to go viral with the new hashtag #hairgate on Twitter, with several complaints.
"I'm more concerned and somewhat irritated that my iPhone 6 Plus, keeps yanking out my hair when I'm making call," the community post reads. "Initially I thought it was the hair sticking to the screen protector. But upon closer inspection, it was the seam between the glass and aluminum - hair gets stuck and when you try to free it out, it hurts."
Some male users also reported that the seam was snagging their facial hair. It is currently unclear how many phones are reporting the same error, or like the bendgate issue, #hairgate is being blown out of proportion.
Apple said it received only nine reports of bent iPhones out of millions it sold to consumers. The problem occurred after keeping the device in the pant pockets for long hours. Despite several videos demonstrating the bending of the new iPhone 6, Consumer Reports tested the new Apple flagship and found the devices to be tougher than shown in various incidents.
