Police guarding the Buckingham Palace say they are "deeply worried" about the amount of overnight guests servants are inviting over that they met on dating apps such as Tinder and Grindr.
Servants are not allowed to bring guests into the palace, but they can have guests in their living quarters as long as they sign them in, reports Daily Mail.
An unnameed insider from the palace tells Daily Mail:
"There are real and serious security concerns at Buckingham Palace about members of staff use of dating apps such as Tinder, which can be rather sleazy. The palace police are particularly unhappy about the number of guests of servants staying overnight, especially when they may have only just met on Tinder.
"The source says the servants often know nothing about the background of the guests which may put the palace in danger.
"They know nothing of the guests' background and say they could be anyone," the soruce continues. "It is a security nightmare, especially in the current climate. The guests are allowed to stay at St James's Palace but some have complained that when they leave they get asked "a million questions" by officers. But police say they are only doing their job."
The apps Tinder and Grindr are similar to a dating website, except they use GPS signals showing you singles located nearby. They are often criticized for promoting casual sex.
Chief Superintendent Dai Davies told Daily Mail servants bringing in overnight guests has always been a security issue.
The Buckingham Palace spokesman declined to comment.
