Inside Scoop: Garth Brooks’ New ‘Man Against Machine’ Album

Garth Brooks' new album to be released next month is powered by "People Loving People," a diversity-embracing, multi-cultrural "We Are The World"-type anthem. The new album – the country superstar's first all-new studio album since "Scarecrow" in 2001 – is titled "Man Against Machine."

"Music has always been a reflection of where mankind is at the time," explains Brooks, reports The Boot. "For 14 years, I have watched heart and soul, dreams and individualism, fighting for their very existence in a world of increasing technology. This album is a reminder to all those who dream, work, and fight for what they believe; do not give up your vision."

Brooks released the first single from the album, "People Loving People," on Sept. 3. Written by busbee, Lee Thomas Miller and Chris Wallin, the song is the kind of feel-good inspirational fare that Brooks has often employed to great effect throughout his career.

"People Loving People" is a feel-good song, a singalong begging to be performed in front a few thousand hand-holding fans and enthusiasts, notes Taste of Country.

The infectious song spreads love and peace. "All the colors and the cultures / Circle 'round us on a spindle / It's a complicated riddle / But the solution is so simple," Brooks sings to close the second verse.

Political tensions and drug abuse are a few of the problems the song addresses in a general sense.

"It's people loving people / That's the enemy of everything that's evil / Ain't no quick fix at the end of a needle / It's just people loving people," Brooks says at the chorus.

In addition to "People Loving People, "another song on the new album is "Send 'Em on Down the Road," reports The Boot, which is an instant download to fans who pre-order the album.

Brooks has written many of his own hits over the years, but for his upcoming album, he turned to some of the top songwriters in Nashville.

"Truth is, I don't have too many songs on this album," Brooks says. "I don't trust my pen yet. I'm kind of rusty. I've been out of it for a while."

The new album will be available on Nov. 11, and is available for preorder via GarthBrooks.com and GhostTunes, either alone or in a "mega bundle."
