'X-Men: Apocalypse' Producer Says 'Fantastic Four' Crossover Is An 'Intriguing' Possibility

“X-Men: Apocalypse” writer/producer Simon Kinberg admitted an “X-Men” and “Fantastic Four” crossover film isn’t out the "realm of possibilities."

Kinberg, who is also a producer for both the “X-Men” and “Fantastic Four” franchises, told ComicBook.com there are opportunities for crossovers in the universes.

“To be honest, I’m so focused on each of the movies right now - I’m so focused on, now we’re [in post-production], on Fantastic Four, and making that the best movie it can be,” Kinberg said. "And then we’re in prep on X-Men: Apocalypse, so those are kind of full time jobs.

“I love the characters, I love the characters in Fan Four, and I love the new cast. Obviously I love the characters and cast of X-Men. So, hypothetically, the notion of putting them together is really intriguing, and there’s some really fun stuff that the comics have done in the past. So it’s not out of the realm of possibility.”

The “Fantastic Four” reboot is currently in production and Mr. Fantastic himself claimed the film will be unlike anything fans have seen before.

During an interview with Vulture, "Fantastic Four" star Miles Teller assured comic book lovers the film will do the franchise justice, comparing it to the re-launch of “X-Men" with the "First Class" installment.

“It’s different in every way,” Teller told Vulture. “All those actors were a lot older, their characters were in different places. The tone of this film is completely different: We don’t have Michael Chiklis in a big Styrofoam thing, and I think that [a more grounded approach] is what people are into — 'X-Men: First Class' is doing that.

“You’re dealing with these characters but you’re making them real people in how they exist day-to-day. People wanted it to be taken more seriously than the kind of Dick Tracy, kitschy, overly comic-book world.”

The “Fantastic Four” reboot is set to open August 7, 2015. “X-Men: Apocalypse” is due to hit theaters May 27, 2016.
