Actress Blake Lively announced on her personal website that she's pregnant with her first child. The 27-year-old shared a photo of her tiny baby bump early Monday morning on the site, Preserve, writing that she was celebrating the "creation of family."
"Preserve at its core is about family. 'Family' is the single word our founder, Blake built this home on," the website's editorial team wrote. "We have something for men, for women, for the old, but we realized, we don't have anything for the new. With family on our mind, we looked to the origin of it all - to the women in our lives who are right there, at that special moment; at the creation of family."
"Today we celebrate them. With food to fill their tummies (as if that needs more filling), presents to soothe their tired (and swollen) soles, toys to warn their baby's souls, projects to provoke them, and decorations to inspire creativity and merriment in all," the post continued. "We had too much fun with this. Because there's so much to share, we break up our first ever Preserve Celebration into multiple parts. In the upcoming days we will bring even more treats and fun. The entire next month will be sprinkled with highlights for women in the exciting chapter of their lives. Congratulations to all the expecting mothers out there. And thank you for being a part of our Preserve family."
This will be the first child for Lively and her husband Ryan Reynolds. The couple, who first met on the set of their 2011 film "The Green Lantern" and married a year later, has always been vocal about starting a family together.
Lively told Allure magazine in 2012, that she "always wanted a big family."
"Oh, I'd love 30 [children] if I could," she added.
Reynolds also expressed the same desires telling Details magazine last year that he too wanted a large family.
"We both come from big families - my parents did four, Blake's did five," he explained. "A lot of people say it's crazy, but we'll only know when we're there, you know?"
