Lena Dunham And 'Life Partner' Jack Antonoff Won't Get Married Until Her Gay Sister Can Legally Wed in All 50 States (AUDIO)

Lena Dunham has admitted to being madly in love with boyfriend and "life partner" Jack Antonoff - so what's keeping the couple from walking down the aisle?

During an interview with Howard Stern, the 28-year-old "Girls" creator and star revealed she would love to be married to her boyfriend of two years, but only after same-sex marriage is legalized in every state in America.

The actress is taking a stand for her sister Grace, who is a lesbian, according to MTV.com. Currently, 19 states in North America have legalized gay marriage.

"We're not against marriage but I wanna wait until it's something - my sister's gay and it just doesn't feel good to me to do something she can't do," she shared. "She can do it in some places but not all places."

Other celebrity couples have made the same promise - Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie and Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard - all of whom waited until same-sex marriage was legalized in California.

In the interview, Dunham also gushed about her relationship with the Fun guitarist, sharing that the two make time for one another, despite their heavy workload.

"We met and the day after we were apart for three months," she told Stern. "And so our relationship was sort of formed long distance, like that's what I became used to. But now, for the most part, we see each other... we try not to be apart for more than a week or two."

"There's a room in our house where he goes and makes music. We were living in a studio apartment when I wrote the book and he made his album. He goes into a room and doodles around on a keyboard and comes out and made magical things."
