The sister of an accused cop-killer on the run from Pennsylvania police wants the fugitive to turn himself in, Reuters reported.
Tiffany Frein, the 18-year-old sister of wanted suspect Eric Frein, told the news agency that if she could speak with her brother, she would tell him "to do us all a favor and turn yourself in."
With the manhunt for 31-year-old Eric Frein now in its 24th day, Tiffany said she doesn't even believe her brother is still in the designated search are located in the forests of the Pocono Mountains.
"I think if he were here they definitely would have found him by now," Tiffany told Reuters near her family's home in Canadensis, Pennsylvania.
Eric Frein, said to be a survivalist, is now on the FBI's Most Wanted List as he continues to evade police after allegedly shooting and killing state trooper Corporal Bryon Dickson outside a police barracks on Sept. 12. He is also accused of shooting and injuring Trooper Alex Douglass.
"This is too much," said the fugitive's sister. "This is just too stressful."
Tiffany Frein said her parents don't even talk about her older brother, who police say has shown a vendetta against law enforcement and expressed a desire to commit mass murder.
The trained sniper used to be a straight-A student and was a "good brother," which makes it harder for Tiffany to understand what police say he did, Reuters reported.
Tiffany may be convinced her brother has fled, but state authorities strongly believe they have him confined to a five-mile radius in northeastern Pennsylvania near the border between Pike and Monroe county.
Police said Friday the suspect has been able to survive off of canned tuna and ramen noodles, but his food supply is running low, the Philadelphia Inquirer reported. Officials also found an abandoned campsite and said they spotted the fugitive about 100 yards away but he escaped.
"It's just a matter of time," State Police Lieutenant Colonel Gorge Bivens told the newspaper.
