Ho! Ho! Ho! Kenny Rogers will deck the halls in 25 cities this November and December in the U.S. and Canada as he embarks on his 33rd holiday tour.
The run kicks off Nov. 12 in Niagara Falls, Ontario and finishes up right before Christmas Eve on Dec. 23 in Westbury, N.Y. It's aptly titled "Christmas and Hits Through the Years," and will feature special guest Linda Davis and a fun, family-friendly atmosphere that has become a holiday tradition for many country fans and Christmas fans alike, according to the Taste of Country.
Fans should expect to hear Rogers perform a mix of old favorites and Christmas-themed songs. His set list will feature "White Christmas," "O Holy Night," "The Christmas Song (Chestnuts Roasting On An Open Fire)" and originals such as "Mary, Did You Know."
Rogers is expected to perform his big country classics "Lady," "The Gambler," "Islands In The Stream," "Lucille," "Ruby, Don't Take Your Love To Town," "She Believes In Me" and "Daytime Friends," Billboard.com reported.
Rogers' festive spirit extends to a new recording. He'll lend his vocals to Jim Brickman's original song "That Silent Night," which will appear on Brickman's album "On A Winter's Night: The Songs and Spirit of Christmas." The set will be available exclusively on Amazon on Oct. 7. A portion of all album sales will benefit the Zach Sobiech Osteosarcoma Fund, which supports research into osteosarcoma, a rare and aggressive bone cancer.
Before he gets into the holiday spirit, Rogers will celebrate his first CMA award nomination in 14 years, and his first joint CMA nomination with Dolly Parton since 1986. The longtime pals are up for Musical Event of the Year for their "You Can't Make Old Friends" duet at the Nov. 5 awards ceremony in Nashville.
"I can't think of a more perfect song for the two of us to sing together," Rogers said, according to The Boot. "Out of everyone in the business, Dolly is my best friend, so naturally it has special meaning for the both of us. It was so good to be back in the studio with her. I'm thrilled to have our relationship documented this way."
