Multiple sightings by individual witnesses and groups, including an investigative reporter, of three "shiny" UFO's in Breckenridge, Colo., on Friday morning prompted an investigation by a military defense command, according to KUSA-TV.
Described as a singular luminous dot or sometimes as a grouping of three glowing orbs, the objects were hardly moving, appearing to remain still in the sky for about 15 minutes at a time, Examiner reported. The reports are now being investigated by Breckenridge police and the Summit County Sheriff's Office, who also notified the FAA.
However, the FAA stated that they had not received any reports or calls from the public regarding the multiple sightings.
"NORAD is not tracking any anomalies in that location. We are investigating," Army Major Beth Smith, a North American Aerospace Defense Command spokeswoman, told the news station Friday, not immediately responding to TheBlaze's request for update or comment on the situation as of Monday morning.
Several witnesses described the objects as forming straight lines or triangular shapes along the horizon, KUSA reported.
Matt Renoux, 9NEWS reporter who also witnessed the sightings, said he doesn't believe the UFO's were drones or weather balloons since the foreign objects appeared stationary for as long as 15 minutes at times.
"They would just sit there... without moving an inch on our view screen in the camera," Renoux said during a 5 p.m. live report. When they did move, a flash of light would appear and the "objects would take off across the mountain ridge,"
Another report filed at the National UFO Reporting Center (NUFORC) noted that the objects held a triangular pattern for up to 1.5 hours.
Meanwhile, a similar incident involving "white dots" occurred in the Salt Lake City area just a day before, a Utah television station reported. Another report of "3 bright white lights in diagonal line" was posted by UFO Stalker on Oct. 2 from Taylorsville.
