MLB Playoffs 2014: Kansas City Royals Pay $15,000 For Celebratory Drinks With Fans (TWEETS)

A few members of the Kansas City Royals celebrated their ALCS series victory over the Los Angeles Angels in style by heading out on the town and living it up with the fans.

First baseman Eric Hosmer, pitcher Greg Holland, and a couple of teammates were seen out and about in Kansas City, specifically McFadden's in the Power & Light District, throwing back beers and paying for bar tabs.

Serious bar tabs.

The Kansas City Star is reporting that, after getting on Twitter to invite fans to join them at the bar...

Hosmer and co. ended up whipping out their credit cards and taking care of about $12,000 worth of an open bar. Hosmer reportedly took the brunt of the financial burden with a $3,000 throw down.

It's always great to see athletes connecting with fans on a deeper, more personal level, and while drinks out at the bar may not be the greatest venue for creating a meaningful relationship, what Hosmer and the rest of his teammates did was great for the Royals, great for Kansas City, great for the league and great for sports in general.

The Royals kick off their ALCS series against the Baltimore Orioles on Friday.
