London Hamburger May Be Most Expensive In World

If you like fine dining you might want to try the world's most expensive burger that was created in a London restaurant.

The "Glamburger" costs a whopping $1,770 at Honky Tonk, an American-style diner restaurant in London, reports USA Today. The burger was verified by the Record Setter as the world's most expensive burger.

The "Glamburger" is so pricey because of its toppings.

"After sourcing the best possible ingredients to create this masterpiece, the winner will certainly have a dinner to remember," Chris Large, the chef that cooked the "Glamburger," said in a press release.

The Kobe Wagyu beef burger is smoked with Himalayan salt, and topped with bits of gold leaf and caviar, black truffle brie, lobster simmered in Iranian saffron, maple syrup coated streaky bacon, Beluga caviar, hickory smoked duck egg covered in gold leaf, mango and champagne jus, and grated white truffle.

The bun is made with rich ingredients as well. The bread also is coated with gold leaf and seasoned with Japanese matcha and cream mayonnaise.

"It's successful in a world in which the unique and bizarre often attract interest," David Nevins, president of Nevins and Associates, tells USA Today. "I don't think, however, that Groupon would sell too many of these burgers with their traditional 2 for 1 offering."

It's also notable that although Record Setter acknowledged as the world's most expensive burger, the Guiness Book of World Records holds a burger a little more expensive than the "Glamburger."

Juicys Outlaw Grill in Corvallis, Ore. holds the Guiness Book Of World Record's title for the most expensive burger when they cooked a $5,000 burger that weighed 777-pounds in 2000, reports USA Today.
