The Brigham Young (BYU) Cougars play the Central Florida (UCF) Knights on Thursday. Kickoff is at 7:30 p.m. ET. Watch the live stream or listen to the radio broadcast via the links provided below.
BYU (4-1) suffered a blow to their season with the loss of quarterback Taysom Hill, who broke his leg last week after being tackled by Utah State's Brian Suite - the same safety who ended Hill's season in 2012. With Hill likely done for the season, the starting nod under center goes to Christian Stewart, who'll make his first collegiate start on Thursday.
"For me, this is my dream," Stewart said, via the Salt Lake Tribune. "I grew up going to BYU football games with my dad. I have always wanted to be a starting quarterback here. It is a dream come true, and now I am ready to take the helm and lead this team to victories."
Stewart's first start comes against a staunch UCF defense, which ranks 30th in the nation with just 334 yards per game allowed. UCF (2-2) bounced back from losing their first two games by winning two straight, including last Thursday's 17-12 win at Houston.
Playing in consecutive Thursday night games has given UCF a weird two weeks in terms of preparation, but coach George O'Leary said he has a game plan and will be happy to return to Saturday games for the rest of the season after the BYU game.
"When you play two Thursdays in a row, it's a little different," O'Leary told the school website. "We had time to get a game plan in, but after this week we settle into pretty much normalcy where we play on Saturdays and we have a normal week."
