Montgomery County, Texas prosecutors have filed paperwork to have Minnesota Vikings' running back Adrian Peterson's bail revoked and have him re-arrested after he told a court employee that he had recently smoked marijuana prior to a drug test on Wednesday, ESPN reported.
According to the filing, Peterson revealed to a court employee that he had "smoked a little weed" before taking a drug test.
Peterson had been free on $15,000 bond on a charge of felony child abuse. Peterson has stated that he will not plead guilty and a trial date of Dec. 1 has been set.
However, the prosecutors' filing will most likely not lead to action Thursday, as the current judge in Peterson's case is scheduled for a recusal hearing on Friday.
Brett Ligon, a Montgomery County District Attorney, filed a motion Wednesday to recuse Judge Kelly Case after she called the lead attorneys in the case "media whores." Case apologized for her remarks, saying that the comment was meant as a joke.
