Not everybody is happy with the NFL's new Thursday schedule. The quick turnaround leaves teams with a shorter amount of time to prepare, and it takes away needed days of rest for players.
"It's annoying for players," Texans running back Arian Foster said, via ESPN. "I don't know one player that likes it. I really don't know a fan that likes it, either. I think it's just the league's way of trying to generate more revenue. Nobody is ready to play physically after a Sunday game. But you've got to go out there and do it."
Colts quarterback Andrew Luck didn't sound like a fan of Thursday night games, either.
"You realize once the game starts, it's football," he said. "There's no use complaining or whining about anything. It's what you do."
One benefit both teams have on Thursday is their familiarity with each other. The two AFC South rivals play each other at least twice every year, helping to compensate for the abbreviated week to create and implement a game plan. With both teams 3-2 and fighting for the top spot in the division, every bit helps.
"It's a huge game for us," said Texans offensive tackle Duane Brown. "The good thing about the Colts is that we're very familiar with them. Of course you have a different game plan than we've had in years past, but as far as the personnel and things like that we kind of know what to expect. So that makes it a little bit easier, but it's never easy."
