Kim Jong-un missed a very important event. He was a no-show for the Oct. 10 celebration of the ruling Workers' Party 69th anniversary.
According to Huffington Post, a flower basket purportedly from Kim was placed by the statues of his father and grandfather, both former rulers of North Korea. State media was quoted as saying that the Workers' Party "is growing stronger under the seasoned guidance of Marshal Kim Jong-un."
With media tightly controlled in North Korea, speculation will not stop until the world sees a healthy Kim Jong-un reemerge. It has been noted that his father, former leader Kim Jong-il, was secreted out of the public eye when he had a stroke in 2008. Media speculation about the current leader's health include gout and diabetes.
