Today's kids will now know the splendor of James Earl Jones, the voice of Darth Vader. A new Disney animated series called "Star Wars Rebels" is getting extra airtime later this month on ABC, and Jones will have his moment as Darth Vader, reported The Huffington Post.
"We wanted to do something special for the ABC broadcast," Dave Filoni, executive producer, said in a news release reprinted by SlashFilm. "We've added a scene which gives audiences insight into the Inquisitor and includes a cameo by Darth Vader voiced by the distinguished actor James Earl Jones."
Jones voiced the original Darth Vader in the "Star Wars" trilogy and brought the role back during a short appearance on "Revenge of the Sith."
"Disney said in the news release that the hour-long pilot, called 'Star Wars Rebels: Spark Of Rebellion,' drew 6.5 million viewers when it premiered on Disney Channel last week," reported The Huffington Post. The ABC rebroadcast that features James Earl Jones will air on Oct. 26 at 7 p.m. EST and PST.
New episodes of "Star Wars Rebels" will begin on Oct. 13 on Disney XD. The show has been renewed for a second season.
