Xbox One owners will soon be getting custom backgrounds, in-game screenshots in updates.
Microsoft, the largest software developing company, will make its next-gen console Xbox One even more appealing with new features. Owners of the latest gaming console will soon be getting new features in the future monthly updates. Head of Microsoft's Xbox division, Phil Spencer, confirmed custom backgrounds, themes and in-game screenshot functions were underway and will soon embrace the Xbox One.
Speaking during a recent Inner Circle podcast episode, Spencer said the new features are a result of popular demand by its fans.
"I was told themes and background pics are something that we are working on and screenshots, you know people beat me up on screenshots," Spencer said, IGN reported. "The team has done a great job with the monthly updates, some of the things are just a prioritization and are a time in development."
Spencer could not confirm the exact date when the new features will be rolled out but guaranteed that "they are coming."
Xbox One has been an important addition for Microsoft and is the flagship gaming console for the company's Xbox series. The company is competing directly with Sony's PlayStation 4 but is struggling to keep up with the increasing sales of the PS4. The Redmond based software giant has constantly improved the Xbox One experience by rolling out frequent updates and attractive bundles like selling the console without Kinect sensor.
In August, the company updated the Xbox One system with massive changes to News Feed and added the ability to make remote purchases. Previous updates included Snap Mode for achievements, Snap Menu with double tap on controller, choice of spoken language, new Snap Center, 3D Blu-ray support, voice control commands and more.
