A Washington man is accused of having sex with a woman he hypnotized in his home, according to court documents.
Kevin Christian Geyer, an amateur hypnotist, allegedly had sex with the unnamed woman after hypnotizing her at his home in Kennewick on June 4. He then put her clothes back on to hide the assault, according to court records obtained by the Tri-City Herald.
The 25-year-old hypnotist pleaded not guilty Wednesday to charges of indecent liberties, which covers having sex with a victim who is unable to consent because they are physically or mentally incapacitated. He was released on his own recognizance.
Geyer knew the woman because he had treated her with hypnotism in the past to help her with personal issues.
The day of the incident, Geyer "placed (the woman) under a state of hypnosis directing her to block out all of her senses except her hearing," documents said according to the Tri-City Herald.
But the alleged victim told police she had vague memories of Geyer assaulting her. She became convinced something happened when she found evidence of a sexual nature on her clothing.
When she confronted the hypnotist about it, he said he was "sorry."
A judge ordered Geyer to stay away from the woman for one year and to hand over any guns he might own.
His trial is expected to begin Jan. 5.
