The New York Giants and Philadelphia Eagles will conclude Sunday with a classic divisional matchup. The two teams have split the last six meetings, and injuries could play a key role in tonight's game.
New York will be missing starting running back Rashad Jennings who sprained in MCL in last week's win against the Atlanta Falcons. He's likely out for the Giants until after their bye week, which is Week 8. They'll also be without linebacker Spencer Paysinger, who has been getting a lot of playing time ever since Jon Beason went down with a toe injury.
But Beason could make his return to the Giants after missing the last three weeks. He was a limited participant in practice throughout the week and is listed as questionable, but he's expected to play thanks to a special shoe he will wear to protect his injured toe. In addition to Beason, defensive end Robert Ayers is listed as questionable with neck spasms. He did not participate in practice this week, but he traveled with the team to Philadelphia, indicating that he might play tonight.
Cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie and punter Steve Weatherford were both limited in practice this week as well, but are listed as probable and are expected to play.
As for Philadelphia, the Eagles will be without starting inside linebacker Mychal Kendricks (calf), starting center Jason Kelce (hernia), running back Chris Polk (hamstring) and wide receiver Brad Smith (groin). Their other starting inside linebacker, DeMeco Ryans, is listed as questionable with a groin injury and was limited in practice this week.
The rest of those on the Eagles' injury report are listed as probable and are expected to play. Linebacker Connor Barwin (knee), cornerback Bradon Boykin (hamstring), tight end Lawrence Burton (Achilles), cornerback Nolan Carroll (hamstring) and wide receiver (shoulder) all fully participated in practice this week.
