Teen Poisons Family, Mom Seeking Help, Accused Of Child Abuse

A mother who claims her daughter tried to poison her and her family on several occassions is getting accused of child abuse for trying to admit her daughter to a mental hospital.

Mary Brown says her 15-year-old daughter, Katie, has cerebal palsy which causes her to have random outbursts, according to NY Daily News reports.

Katie allegedly poisoned her mother and the rest of the family on four occasions.

Brown tells HuffPost she has caught her daughter putting Lysol in her iced tea and bleach in her Coke on separate occasions. She adds that in the past Katie has put rat poison and carpet cleaner on other foods.

After each incident Brown says she took Katie to the psychriatric hospital, but each time she was released. On the last visit the hospital allegedly accused Brown of child abuse because she demanded the hospital to help her daughter and refused to take Katie home until she was helped.

Brown recently made corn bread for the family, which Katie laced with carpet cleaner, and it was consumed by the whole family. A doctor told Brown's boyfriend one more poisoning could be fatal, and the poison ruined Katie's sister's vocal cords so badly she had to drop out of choir, reports NY Daily News.

The hospital called the police, and according to NY Daily News, and Brown was charged with child abuse.

"I love my daughter, and all I want for her is to get the help she needs," Brown tells NY Daily News.

The case is still being investigated.
