College Football: Clemson Quarterback Deshaun Watson to Miss One Month Due to Finger Injury

Clemson freshman quarterback Deshaun Watson will miss the next month of the season due to a finger injury suffered in the second half of the Tigers' 23-17 win over Louisville on Saturday. Watson broke a finger on his right hand and will need four screws put in place to help heal the broken bone.

Clemson coach Dabo Swinney said that Watson will have the procedure Monday. Swinney also said that it was possible Watson could return in time for a matchup against No. 15 Georgia Tech.

Clemson's victory against Louisville returned them to the national rankings at No. 24. The Tigers are 4-2 this season and 3-1 in the ACC, second behind Florida State. Watson replaced senior Cole Stoudt at quarterback three weeks ago against FSU. Watson has passed for 1,176 yards, 12 touchdowns and two interceptions this season. He has also rushed for three scores.

The Tigers face the Boston College Eagles this weekend.
