New 'Witcher' Comics Coming From Dark Horse in 2015

Dark Horse Comics and Polish video game developer CD Projekt Red have renewed their partnership to offer a second comic series based on "The Witcher" video game franchise. The series will be titled "Fox Children," and it will begin in April, according to a report at Polygon.

The companies announced the book at New York Comic Con on Sunday. The series will be written by Paul Tobin, and Joe Querio will handle the artistic duties on the book.

"Fox Children will lead Geralt aboard a ship of fools, renegades, and criminals," said a press release, "where some passengers are more dangerous than others, but one is hiding a hideous secret."

"The Witcher" franchise is based on the series of novels by Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski. "The Witcher" takes place in a medieval fantasy world and follows the story of Geralt, one of a few remaining "witchers" who are traveling monster hunters for hire, and typically possess unnatural, magical powers. The game's system of "moral choices" as part of the storyline was noted for its time-delayed consequences and lack of simple, black-and-white morality.

"The Witcher: Fox Children" comics are slated for a launch after "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt's" February 24, 2015 release.
