Michael Jackson's only daughter, Paris Jackson, was reportedly hospitalized early Wednesday morning (June 5) because of a suicide attempt, TMZ reports. The news was confirmed by Debbie Rowe, Jackson's mom, to "Entertainment Tonight." Around 2 a.m. the 15-year-old was taken to a Los Angeles hospital after being taken out of the family's Calabasas home on a stretcher. According to TMZ, a 911 call was placed around 1:27 a.m. in which the caller reported "a possible overdose." However, a source connected to emergency responders told the website there were multiple cuts on one of Jackson's wrists.
A source close to Jackson also told TMZ that this was not first suicide attempt for the young girl but "this was far more serious. It was not a cry for help."
Reportedly, Jackson got into an argument and "threw a fit" because she was not allowed to go to a Marilyn Manson concert. Supposedly, the teen ran into her room screaming and slammed her door.
Rowe told "Entertainment Tonight" that her daughter had "a lot going on [lately]" but did not specify if the recent argument about attending the concert had anything to do with her suicide attempt.
Jackson posted some cryptic tweets just hours before she was taken to the hospital. She also posted about a "conversation escalating quickly" but it is not clear what she was referring to.
"We appreciate every one's thoughts for Paris at this time and their respect for the family's privacy," Rowe's lawyer, Eric George, told TMZ adding that Jackson was doing okay.
This is a tough month for the teenager and her siblings, Prince and Blanket. The fourth anniversary of Michael Jackson's passing is on June 25.
