40 never looked so good! Penelope Cruz is the "Sexiest Woman Alive," according to Esquire magazine. The 40-year-old brunette beauty graced the cover for the magazine's 2014 November issue wearing a sexy one-piece bathing suit with a plunging neckline.
Inside the magazine, Cruz shows off her long, toned legs in similar bathing suits as she poses for the camera. The "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides" actress said she honored to receive the title, saying that she has always been known as a bit of a "drama queen."
"I've played a lot of tricks on myself. I've made it hard for me sometimes, especially in my teens and 20s. I had an attraction to drama," she told Esquire. "Most of us have that, especially if you are an artist - you feel like you are tempted to explore the darkness."
Cruz is the 10th Hollywood star to receive the "Sexiest Woman Alive" title. Angelina Jolie was the first celebrity awarded the honor in 2004, followed by Jessica Biel, Scarlett Johansson, Charlize Theron, Halle Berry, Kate Beckinsale, Minka Kelly, Rihanna, Mila Kunis and Johansson again.
"Cruz has no physical flaws, the bent noses and crooked teeth we would normally use as signifiers," Esquire wrote. "Her face contains no secrets, at least not about her. But her face tells you and the room plenty about you. If you want to feel like the world's most judged man, sit down at a table in a restaurant with the Sexiest Woman Alive."
Cruz is married to 45-year-old Javier Bardem and the couple has two kids together, Leo, 3, and Luna, 1.
