"Dancing With the Stars" pro Karina Smirnoff was badly injured during rehearsals on Sunday, Oct. 12. According to TMZ, Smirnoff was practicing for Monday night's show when she fell and hurt her knee and wrist.
The Ukrainian-born dancer was taken to the hospital in an ambulance with an ice pack on her wrist. Sources told TMZ that an x-ray revealed that Smirnoff didn't fracture any bones but producers of the show are still trying to find a replacement.
"OMG! Amazing opening dance tomorrow with Jessie J and our talented dancers. I'm not in it... but you have to c it! @ABC #DWTS @DancingABC," she tweeted.
She also shared a picture on Instagram from the hospital, writing, "So sad I'm not able to perform tonight on the show. Got hurt yesterday rehearsing. Now, some TLC and I'll be back stronger than ever! Thank u guys for ur support, guys, Love u! @dancingabc."
The 36-year-old and her celebrity partner, UFC fighter and actor Randy Couture, were eliminated in week three of "Dancing With the Stars" but she still performs on the show with the dance troupe.
"Even though we were sent home, we're grateful for the experience," she told People magazine (via the Daily Mail) after the elimination. "Overall, I was happy with the way all our performances went. I'm just enjoying the fact that Randy and I got to meet each other through the show, and we got to work together. We got to create incredible memories and hopefully gave the show's audience something to enjoy with all our dances."
