LeBron James, despite hailing from Cleveland, is a well-known Dallas Cowboys supporter. Cleveland Browns starting quarterback Brian Hoyer hopes to change that.
Hoyer has said he understands why James roots for the Cowboys. Hoyer, 29, is also a Cleveland native and remembers all too well when the Browns left for Baltimore in 1995. Cleveland only received another football franchise in 1999.
"You have to cheer for someone," Hoyer said. "Hopefully we can bring him around to it."
The Browns, 3-2, have endured six straight double-digit-loss seasons. However, with an easy upcoming schedule that features games with the Jaguars, Raiders and Buccaneers - one win combined among all three teams - Cleveland could be looking at its first winning season in over half a decade.
James made another public showing of support for the Cowboys on Instagram this weekend.
However, he also showed some love for the hometown Browns.
"It was a great day," James said Monday. "Browns won. Cowboys won. I had a great Sunday."
