The Wall Street Journal posted a video last night that appeared to show police assaulting an unresisting man.
According to Time, Ken Tsang Kin-chiu, a pro-democracy member of the Civic Party and social worker, was among the 45 Occupy Central Hong Kong demonstrators arrested in the early hours of this morning. Police had removed barricades earlier in the day and demonstrators tried to resurrect the structures.
According to reports, six police officers tied Tsang's hands behind his back, carried him behind a building then repeatedly punched and kicked him for four minutes. Tsang showed no signs of resistance in the video.
Local director at Amnesty International Mabel Au told Time, "We are very shocked and disappointed by such behavior."
According to Time, a spokesperson for Tsang called police behavior "clearly criminal."
"They should be arrested," he said.
According to WSJ Video, there will be an investigation by police and a police official stated that the accused officers have been reassigned.
