NFL: Peyton Manning And The Denver Broncos Are America’s Favorite Team

It doesn't look as if anyone is Peyton hatin' this year.

According to The Harris Poll, which surveyed over 2,500 adults in mid-September, the Denver Broncos are America's favorite team, ESPN reported.

The Broncos replaced the Dallas Cowboys, who had finished No. 1 in each of the previous six years for the top spot in America's football heart. It's not a huge surprise as to why, however. Denver boasts a Hall of Fame quarterback and two-time Super Bowl champion in John Elway as its top front office executive and a future Hall of Fame quarterback with one ring already in Peyton Manning.

Earlier this season, Broncos' coach John Fox said, "I think when you coach here or play here, you kind of realize the reach of the team. You always knew this was a tough place to play if you've ever had to compete here in a game, but the reach is something you see when you're around it every day."

The Broncos are currently 4-1, and Manning is set to break the all-time career passing touchdowns record (508) held by Brett Favre any day. Manning needs just three more throwing scores to take over the top spot.

The New York Giants came in as the No. 2 team, with the Green Bay Packers (No. 3), Cowboys (No. 4) and Pittsburgh Steelers (No. 5), rounding out the top five.

The reigning Super Bowl champions, the Seattle Seahawks, who blew out the Broncos 43-8 to hoist the franchise's first ever Lombardi Trophy last year, came in at No. 6.

However, the Broncos still trail the Washington Redskins for longest home sellout streak.
