Mormon Church Releases Video Explaining Sacred Underclothes (VIDEO)

During the presidential campaign in 2012, Mitt Romney lamented the number of babies born to single moms. New York Times columnist Charles Blow tweeted, "I'm a single parent and my kids are amazing! Stick that in your magic underwear," according to The Daily Mail.

The Mormon Church is talking about that "magic underwear"... and telling those who aren't in the know that calling it "magic Mormon underwear" is offensive. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints released a video explaining the garments worn by Mormon Church members, according to The Daily Mail. The "temple garments" were compared to a Catholic nun's habit or Muslim skullcap, only the cotton clothing is worn hidden from view.

According to The Daily Mail, the Mormon Church has about 15 million members around the globe and transparency has been a new focus for the group.

Jana Riess, a blogger for the Religion News Service, wrote that she hopes the world will become educated and the video will "persuade gawkers that there's nothing to see here, folks."
