Baltimore is on the verge of being swept. Their 2-1 loss Tuesday night put Kansas City up three-to-nothing in the series, thanks in part to several big catches from Royals third baseman Mike Moustakas.
"It really did fire up the whole stadium," Royals first baseman Eric Hosmer said of his teammates diving catch into the dugout, via ESPN. "Hats off to the fans in the dugout suite, pick him up and put him back on the field. That was great. 'Moose' finding ways to get it done."
Royals designated hitter Billy Butler drove in the go-ahead run in the sixth inning, putting Kansas City on top for good and extending the team's postseason streak to seven straight.
"We've got a snowball effect going right now," he said. "The confidence couldn't be any higher. That's when you come to the park each day, focus on the next pitch, focus on your job and just not be the guy to end the streak."
Although the Royals have the chance to close out the series at home, the Orioles are confident they can become the second team to ever come back from a 3-0 deficit.
"It's been done before, so that gives you a chance," said Orioles outfielder Adam Jones. "We've won four games before. Obviously, not in this situation. But we've won four games, four games, four games. So start tomorrow, start in the first inning and get some runs on the board."
Miguel Gonzalez is tasked with keeping the Orioles alive, and he'll be opposed by Royals pitcher Jason Vargas.
