UFC Featherweight Conor McGregor Issues Challenge Before Title Shot

Rising UFC star Conor McGregor showed his drive to fight Wednesday, issuing a challenge on Twitter for anyone to take him on.

The challenge comes a little over a week before the featherweight is expected to sit cageside for featherweight champion Jose Aldo's title defense against Chad Mendes at UFC 179, according to MMA Fighting.

Currently holding a No. 1 contender spot for the featherweight title, McGregor could be putting his title shot at risk by fighting before that.

McGregor wrote on Twitter that he was looking forward to watching Aldo fight Mendes, adding that neither competitor would be able to challenge him until mid-2015 "because Aldo's body is weak and Mendes is 2foot nothing," The Irish Independent reported.

"Myself, Uncle Frank and the rest of La Familia are in the process of selecting another victim to eliminate in the meantime," he said.

The 26-year-old featherweight challenged all contenders, demanding that they "bow before me and kiss each individual toe, in a public setting of my choice, for pardoning the execution."

"You've got 24hrs to come forward and surrender your woman and all your belongings or you'll be hunted down and your head placed in my collection," McGregor said.

The Irish featherweight previously shared his interest in fighting for the title in early 2015, and plans to make his first defense later in the year at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin, MMA Fighting reported.

"I'll win the belt, maybe I'll defend it in the Aviva and then I'll challenge for the lightweight belt, then who knows? That's definitely in my plans, you better believe that," he said.

UFC 179 will be held on Oct. 25 in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil.
