Stephen Collins Comes Under Investigation By L.A. County Sheriff’s Department

The investigation into Stephen Collins now stretches from coast to coast. Another alleged victim has come forward with allegations against Collins stemming from an incident more than 30 years ago in Los Angeles.

"The allegation was first reported to the Los Angeles Police Department on Thursday, Oct. 9, 2014, and was forwarded to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department for investigation. The victim, who was 13 years old at the time of the incident, reported the event that occurred in the summer of 1983," the L.A. Sheriff's Department said in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter.

The alleged incident occurred with a relative of Collins' neighbor when he lived on Havenhurst Drive in West Hollywood at the time, according to TMZ. The Sheriff's Department has listed the "7th Heaven" star as a suspect in its investigation that centers on indecent exposure and annoying or molesting a child.

Collins also faces an investigation by the New York Police Department's Special Victims Unit involving "inappropriate sexual contact with minors," an NYPD official told TMZ. His estranged wife Faye Grant handed over a tape of Collins allegedly confessing to molesting and/or exposing himself to several underage girls, ranging in age from 11 to 13.

Grant secretly made the recording during a therapy session in 2012 and the NYPD also questioned her about other potential witnesses for at least three victims. TMZ obtained the tape and released it on Oct. 7.

The startling confession has resulted in Collins' losing his part in the upcoming film "Ted 2" and his reprised role on "Scandal." UpTV and TV Guide Network also pulled reruns of "7th Heaven" from its programming.
