Pizza Hut Customer Gets Called 'Pink Fat Lady' On Receipt

A Pizza Hut customer in Singapore was the subject of an employee's cruel joke when she found the word's "Pink Fat Lady" written on her receipt.

Aili Si was outraged to find the insulting phrase at the bottom of her receipt for her order at a Pizza Hut in the Bukit Merah outlet on Sunday, the Straits Times reported.

"I don't think it is nice for your staff to describe me as such on my receipt," Si wrote on Pizza Hut's Facebook page. "As a customer I definitely hope to be treated with basic respect deserved by any others. I hope to receive an apology from the staff and Pizza Hut."

She also posted a picture of the receipt with the words "Pink Fat Lady" handwritten on the bottom.

"What's wrong with being plus size?" Si added. "I'm a customer and I pay for my pizza! Not that I'm [getting] it for free!"

Pizza Hut responded to Si on Monday expressing their deepest regrets for the incident that "rocked us in our seats," The Straits Times reported.

"That should not have happened at all and we feel that we cannot begin to appropriately apologize to you at this point, but we are, indeed, sorry for this.

"Our team is keen on finding out further details of this incident in order to launch an investigation."

A Pizza Hut representative told the newspaper they are looking into the incident. It is not clear if any disciplinary action has been carried out against an employee.

Si later thanked Pizza Hut for their apology and said she has "come to closure" over what happened.

"And to the public who focused mainly on the negative effects regarding obesity, I sincerely request you to be sympathetic and to open your hearts and minds to what an obese individual may be facing that many may not be able to see on the surface," Si wrote on her Facebook page.
