Microsoft Updates Xbox One With Buzz For Finding Lost Controllers

Xbox One owners will be happy to hear that the console's most recent dashboard update will make it easier to find their controllers after they've lost them.

The October update makes it easier to find missing controllers by giving gamers the ability to make a controller vibrate remotely from the settings page, according to The Verge.

Controllers need to be powered on for owners to use this new feature, which comes in the form of a "find" option in the new devices and accessories section of the settings.

The update comes with several other new features, such as better navigation for the Snap function, Gizmodo reported. Double tapping the Guide button lets players open up a new app in Snap mode, close apps being used and switch between apps and games being played at the time. Snap mode also lets gamers record 30 seconds of gameplay.

Gamers can also double tap to access their friends and Achievements more easily, as well as see which friends have unlocked the same Achievements they have. They can also look at how well they are doing on the new Gamer Score Leaderboard.

Other new additions include an updated two-step-security authentication, which functions as the Xbox One's version of a Gmail account, and a better Live TV setup for players who connect their consoles to a set-top box to watch their favorite shows, Gizmodo reported. Snap Center will also now let players look at their console's time and battery life while playing games.

The update has the potential to provide a better gaming experience for those who don't use the Xbox One's Kinect voice command, The Verge reported. Gamers won't have to yell "find" at the TV while looking for lost controllers or "Xbox snap" while snapping apps.

Gamers can get the update now for their Xbox Ones to take advantage of a way to find missing controllers.
