Misty Upham Missing Update: Body Found Near Washington River May Be Missing Actress

A body found Thursday in a ravine in Washington state is believed to be that of missing Native American actress Misty Upham, police said.

Family members searching for the missing actress, reported missing Oct. 6, found the body in the steep ravine next to the White River in the town of Auburn, Wash., the New York Daily News reported.

"A purse containing identification of Misty Upham was at the scene, however, at this time the medical examiner has not made a positive identification nor a determination of cause of death," police said in a statement obtained by the Daily News.

Upham, 32, is best known for her roles alongside Julia Roberts and Meryl Streep in "August: Osage County" in 2013 and for her role in "Frozen River" in 2008.

Upham, of the Blackfeet tribe, was last seen leaving her sister's apartment in Muckleshoot on Oct. 5, according to a statement released by her father, Charles Upham.

The actress' father said she has a history with mental health issues and suffers from bipolar disorder and depression. She also seemed distraught and recently stopped taking her medication, her father told KIRO-FM.

However, Charles Upham did not think his daughter was suicidal.

"The truth is Misty is not stressed over money or career. Her career is going great," wrote Charles Upham, who is currently recovering from a stroke, according to CNN. "As her father I do not fear she committed suicide. I feel that she has been hurt by accident or someone has put her in harms way."

Misty Upham was nominated for an Independent Spirit Award for her role in "Frozen River" and had a small role in "Django Unchained."
