Oklahoma Family Triple Murder Details Revealed

Emerging details are painting and even more grim picture of the Oklahoma family triple murder on Monday, People reported.

Alan Hruby, 19, the family's oldest child, confessed on Tuesday to the shooting deaths of his younger sister, Katherine, 17, and his parents, John Hruby, 50 and Katherine (Tinker) Hruby, 48 at their home.

Alan Hruby told police he killed his family Thursday night. The bodies were discovered Monday morning by a housekeeper.

According to court documents, Alan Hruby shot his mother first with his dad's 9mm pistol when he arrived at the family home. The University of Oklahoma student said that when she didn't die from the first shot to the neck, he fired again while she was lying on the kitchen floor.

When Katherine Hruby came inside after washing her car, Alan Hruby told police that he shot her in the head next and believed to have killed her on the first try.

An hour later, John Hruby came home from his job as the publisher of a small community newspaper, and Alan Hruby fired the gun twice at his father. At first he said "ouch" and fell to the floor, where Alan Hruby shot him again.

He then proceeded to throw the murder weapon and a home surveillance video into a lake. This suggested to police that he knew what he did was wrong and did not want to get caught, News 9 reported.

Alan Hruby was motivated to kill because he was about to be cut off from the family's finances due to wild, irresponsible spending. He owes approximately $3,000 to a loan shark company and felt that if he killed his family, he would inherit their estate.

Alan Hruby was on probation for credit card fraud, but attended a football game in Dallas after the murders, therefore violating the terms of his probation. This allowed police to take him into custody and question him about the murders.

Jason Hicks, Stephens County District Attorney, said he would be pushing for the death penalty for Alan Hruby.
