It's last call at the county jail.
A Michigan woman who mistakenly thought a county jail was a bar was arrested for drunken driving on Sunday morning, MLive reported.
The 39-year-old woman from Hartford parked in the lot of the Van Buren County sheriff's office shortly after 2 a.m., according to police. She was caught while trying to get her boyfriend back into the car as she threw it in reverse to drive away.
A policeman noticed she smelled heavily of alcohol and appeared to be drunk when he approached her car, according to a press release from the sheriff's office. She is expected to face charges of operating a car while highly intoxicated, according to the Associated Press. This means her BAC was found to .17 or higher.
A breathalyzer test showed the woman was more than twice the .08 federal blood alcohol driving limit. During questioning, she admitted that she pulled into the jail parking lot thinking it was another bar in town. She had just come from a different bar in another location.
She is being held at the Van Buren County Jail, the same one she thought she could get a drink at.
Alcohol intoxication can make people do some seemingly irrational things, and even mistake public places for bathrooms. In a video posted to Ranker.com, a woman urinates in the middle of a convenience store mid-phone call.
In another, a man is found holding onto the canned food shelf of a pantry while urinating as another man can be heard saying "Randall, that is not the bathroom, man. That is totally not the bathroom. You are p*****g in their pantry. I'm pretty sure you're p*****g on...on dog food?"
