Thomas Eric Duncan's fiancée, Louise Troh, was released from quarantine Sunday at midnight, but she was left with minimal possessions after hazmat teams gutted her belongings, according to The Daily Mail.
Troh is now free from isolation, but she lost most of her property when Duncan's apartment was sealed off and while she was in quarantine. Troh is left with only a few documents, a few photographs and one Bible, according to The Daily Mail.
Troh also missed Duncan's funeral.
Troh also plans to write a book about her relationship with Duncan, according to The Daily Mail, which will help ease the emotional and financial burdens put on the family. For right now, the family seeks anonymity, "as we seek to rebuild our home, our family and our daily living," Troh said according to the Los Angeles Times. "We will not give any interviews at this time. I do have a story to tell, and I look forward to telling it in my own way at the right time."
Troh and Duncan met at a refugee camp on the Ivory Coast, according to USA Today. When civil war broke out 16 years ago, Troh left Africa with Karsiah, Troh and Duncan's son. The two rekindled their relationship and decided to get married. Duncan came to America with plans to return to Liberia in two years and build his family a home, according to the Los Angeles Times.
