The Percy Harvin trade from the Seattle Seahawks to the New York Jets took a lot of people by surprise. Others, like NFL Insider Ian Rapoport, had heard rumblings of issues and a potential change weeks prior to the move.
Ahead of the NFL trade deadline on October 28th, Rapoport sat down with Rich Eisen on Sunday's NFL Gameday Morning and offered three more names to watch.
One of those names - and probably the biggest - is that of Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Vincent Jackson.
"They are getting a ton of calls on him," Rapoport said. "With just one win, I'm told they are open to anything even though they love him as a player."
The Bucs haven't performed particularly well in Lovie Smith's inaugural season as Buccaneers head coach, managing to win only a single game so far, so planning for the future and getting good to great value for the 31-year-old Jackson while they can makes some sense.
Plus, the team drafted Mike Evans out of Texas A&M in the first round during April's draft, and he very possibly could be Vincent's future (or current) replacement.
Another name Rapoport sees possibly moving is Buffalo Bills running back C.J. Spiller, who has seen his touches decrease this season.
"The Cowboys had interest in Spiller last year, he's in a contract year, (and there are) questions about his role," Rapoport said. "We'll see what interest he generates this year."
Spiller though, was injured during Sunday's game against the Vikings, broke his collarbone and will reportedly have surgery on Monday, a team source told ESPN's Adam Caplan.
Cincinnati Bengals tight end Jermaine Gresham was the last - and seemingly most lukewarm - name on Rapoport's list.
"They already have Tyler Eifert coming off an injury," Rapoport said. "It seems they've already replaced (Gresham), he could be had too."
Eifert is attempting to return to the field for Week 10 from an elbow injury he suffered during an early season win over the Ravens. His status could affect Gresham's possible departure from the team.
