Dustin Lynch was having a great time. As he was wrapping up his cover of Garth Brooks' "Friends in Low Places," he started walking out into the crowd on an extension of the stage while playing the Mulletfest in Niceville, Florida, on Friday (Oct. 17). Suddenly, a full beer can was hurled through the air by a concert-goer and slammed him in the face.
"I was walking down the catwalk and wham, out of nowhere this beer can just nailed me in the face," Lynch told People. "It was a completely full can and it felt like a baseball had hit me."
Bleeding from a gash above his right cheekbone, Lynch asked the crowd, "Who threw the beer can?"
No one acknowledged the toss.
The singer - whose hits include "Cowboys and Angels" - probably knew there was at least one non-angel in the crowd. After the show, he was taken to the hospital to get stitches.

Lynch later tweeted about the flying beer can:
"On my way to the hospital for a few stitches, I'll be okay," he said, according to eonline. "I appreciate all of you. Fyi the guy who hit me with a beer can got away ..."
While he still sported a bloody face, Lynch took a selfie with fans, which was shared on Twitter by user @TaylorBoisjolie.
